WOWS
Women Offering Women Support

This is a ministry offering encouragement and support to women who find themselves in a time of crisis. How comforting to know that someone who has walked a similar path is there to comfort you, to guide you, and to pray with you. Topics include: grief support, health crisis, domestic violence, caregiver support, divorce, miscarriage, infertility and other life experiences.

  • Coordinator- Cecille Hammond

Prodigal Prayer Group

A support group whose mission is to edify and encourage, to petition the Lord and rejoice in each other's victories as we pray for our children and loved ones who are away from the Lord's Will. We want to "pray our prodigals" (home)... to reclaim what the enemy has tried to steal.

  • Coordinator: Linda Minard

A Widow's Might

Our purpose is to "come along side" our widows and their children physically, emotionally and spiritually.  This ministry coordinates with the James Gang, WOWs (Women Offering Women Support) Ministry, Nurses' Ministry, Grief Share and counseling to address any issues that might be faced.  If you are a widow or know of someone who would benefit from this ministry, contact the church office for the contact information of the coordinator.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God."

HER Time
Helping Encouraging Reaching Out

The HER Times provide women the chance to gather in their own neighborhoods for the purpose of fun, fellowship and outreach. The program will include a short devotion with a gospel message and then a demonstration or speaker with a topic of interest to women. The hostess has the opportunity to invite guests who may not come to a church event but would be comfortable in a home setting. They usually meet on the second or third Thursday of the month.

  • Coordinators: Michelle Barnett and Barbara Cowan

HER Times are 7:00 to 9:00 pm & held in the homes of our members.  Call Michelle Barnett (287-1080) for directions and reservations.

Helping Hands

Our Helping Hands Ministry is a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ with a servant's heart. We offer meal assistance to those who are not being cared for through a Sunday school class or other church group. This is a short-term commitment intended to help families during times of illness, death or family crisis.

  • Coordinator: Pamela Kinser

Welcome and Hospitality

The goal of this ministry is to welcome all women and their families as they become members of our fellowship or visit our Church. Team members will welcome them on Sunday mornings during both services and provide the most recent copy of our Women's Ministry newsletter, Joy Notes. An information card will be provided by a team member as a point of contact to answer any questions about the Women's Ministry programs or make a personal visit when requested.

  • Coordinator: Brenda Van Zant

Mission Sisters

The purpose of Mission Sisters is to promote the fellowship of women with our sisters serving on the Mission Field. This is intended to be a way to Support our Missionary Sisters in Christ and to encourage and pray for them. Notes of encouragement are written and small gifts are given over an extended period of time.

  • Coordinator- Susan Kellum

Outreach Events

This is the heart of our mission as Christian women, to reach out with the love of Jesus Christ. We have two main outreach events; the Christmas Outreach in December, during which gifts are collected and taken to a local homeless shelter or other community organization.

Our Tea Party, in May, honors significant women in our lives. During this event women are encouraged to invite a guest who will be treated to Tea, and hear an inspiring message of hope.

  • Coordinators- Dot Burney and Becky Harrison
