SPORTSLIFE MINISTRY

Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child. Upward volunteers are our church members and members of our community who come from all walks of life and are involved by praying for the program, coaching a team, refereeing a game, or sharing a devotion. It is open to all members of the community regardless of their religious background.

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading

Upward Basketball & Cheerleading are currently full.

Upward Basketball is an outstanding league which encourages "every child to be a winner." Upward Basketball is for children in grades 1 – 8 & Upward Cheerleading is for K- 8, in separate grade and gender brackets. Games are on Fridays or Saturdays, beginning January 9 through February 28. Volunteer coaches, referees, scorekeepers, prayer partners, and helpers are needed to make this league function. Uniform and accessories are included for the $80 fee. After September 28, the price goes up to $100. Scholarship funds are available – we want your child to play!

Evaluations & Practices for Basketball & Cheerleading

Evaluations, uniform sizing, practices and games will be at the Fruit Cove Baptist Church ROC. (501 SR 13) Evaluation and Sizing events are held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. October 2, October 6 and October 7 (attend any one of the three). Have your player wear a T-Shirt, shorts and tennis shoes to the evaluation.
Practices are Monday, Tuesday or Thursday evenings beginning the week of December 8 (we are starting earlier than previous seasons). Each team has a one-hour practice per week, and a one-hour game per week.

Upward Flag Football & Cheerleading

During the summer we begin registration for flag football and cheerleading for children In 2008 we offered Upward Flag Football was for children in grades 1 - 6 (entering Fall 2008). Coed teams are grouped by grade levels. Evaluations, uniform sizing, practices and games are held on the Fruit Cove Baptist ball fields at the back of the campus located at 501 SR 13 (behind the church parking lot). Jersies, shorts, flags & belts and other items are included in registration fee.

Practices are held during the week.
Registration will be held in the summer (May/June)
Games are usually held on Saturdays between 9 - 3 pm.
